Working on poster for WISH Conference and working with Arduino and flex sensor

We have been working on creating the poster for the WISH conference in Washington D.C. while experimenting with the Arduino board and flex sensor.

For the WISH poster, we created an image of the arm and blocks of text around the arm to give a visual representation of what our project will look like. We wanted to make the poster look really nice so we spent some time making the arm image look better. Our poster reflects a simple representation of our project with less text so that we will be able to more fully explain the project in person. We will be attending the WISH conference on October 22, 2011. I have posted the arm image below.

In experimenting with the Arduino Board. Instead of using labView, we used Arduino with C so that we can work more easily with programming the sensor and have more flexibility in what we want the flex sensor to do. We decided to use the Arduino Uno board because of its many ports. The Arduino website has a lot of step by step tutorials so it made it easy to make this prototype. We attached the flex sensor, an LED, and the arduino board together. Then we used the arduino board to make the LED blink. Since the arduino website has so many tutorials, we will probably be using it more in the future.  This also mirrored the tutorial kits we did for the engineering projects class, so it was good to see those ideas enforced.
